Last month, 50 Cent pulled off two major deals. First, he landed an endorsement deal with Sleek Headphones. The result of this deal was The Sleek by 50. In the same week, 50 Cent purchased stock in H&H Imports, the parent company of Sleek. His investments led to him making $8 million in one day.
In late February, 50 Cent announced on Twitter that Dr. Dre hated him. 50 Cent said Dr. Dre was upset with him because he launched a headphone line. Three years ago, Dr. Dre made history as the first rapper with a headphone line. 50 Cent, a former Dre protege, had created direct competition.
50 Cent later attempted to apologize to Dr. Dre. When Dre addressed the situation, he said he did not even know 50 Cent had started a headphone line. Dr. Dre's statement made 50 Cent look relatively stupid. After this, the situation died down and the only news about Dr. Dre came from his music, as his "I Need a Doctor," a rumored diss to 50 Cent, was released.
Now, 50 Cent has discussed the situation. He said Dr. Dre, much like Eminem, hates beef. When there is friction around, they tend to avoid the entire situation. 50 Cent said this is why Dr. Dre acted as if he had never heard of The Sleek by 50. 50 explained Dre usually ignores beef until it disappears, meanwhile he takes it on head first. 50 Cent said his tweets were only posted in an effort to get some sort of reaction out of his former mentors.
