Once Universal Records realized Chamillionaire was not interested in making more songs like "Ridin'," the love story was over. While working on his third album, Universal played with their former flagship artist. Initially, he was given a 2008 release date for his third album, which was titled Venom.
Two years later, Chamillionaire was still trying to release Venom when he decided to leave the label. Cham decided to return to the independent circuit. Back on his independent grind, Chamillionaire has recorded several mixtapes. All of the mixtapes are in preparation for his upcoming album.
Now titled Playlist Poison, Chamillionaire picks up where he left off in 2007. He had shifted his focus from being the typical Southern rapper to being more socially concious. Chamillionaire has discussed plenty of topics on his album, including the antics of "Two and a Half Men" star, Charlie Sheen. Cham will also talk about Universal Records and his lost album, Venom.
In the weeks before the release of Playlist Poison, Chamillionaire will be leaking the entire album to the internet for the people to hear.
