In 2008, Lil Wayne said when he released the fourth installment of Tha Carter, the game would officially be over. The New Orleans rapper intended to release the album in 2009. However, other projects and a prison sentence has kept the album on the backburner.
Freed from prison in 2010, Lil Wayne quickly completed the album. Only a month after he was released from prison, Lil Wayne released "6 Foot 7 Foot," which has become a monster hit. The rest of the album is said to live up to the hype. For years, many have crowned Lil Wayne as the best.
With the album complete, Lil Wayne issued a message to all of the other rappers. Boasting about Tha Carter IV, Wayne told all of the rappers to quit their day jobs. The Young Money frontman feels as if he has officially taken the game over with his latest album. Free, Lil Wayne is at a new peak on many levels. Even from behind bars, he was one of the top five rappers in the game. Now that he is out, Lil Wayne plans to tear the game apart.
