It IS a nice gesture... I had to uninstall it as it doesn't seem to play nice w/ Cyber Duck (app simply won't open w/ Sophos installed)....haven't run into chatter about that issue, so maybe something unique to me [shrug]

"So Live and Let Die!"
You shoot their leg, they shoot you in the head.
Anyone who points a gun at another person is asking for trouble, even if he/she doesn't fire it.
If guns didn't exist, things like this wouldn't be happening.
If guns did not exist it would be happening with whatever does. swords, rocks, fists... in which case the mall cop would have probably been killed in this situation and lost the "good fight". It becomes a game of numbers when guns do not exist... all guns do is put everybody on a level playing field regarldess of numbers (be realistic) or physical strength.

LOL. Please tell us which law firm you work for. That was quite funny. Are you a historian now too? Would the real cmaier please stand up?
So the arbitration system comes from the roman law as well? Do tell.
I'm not interested in what revisionist historians have come up with the justify this perversion of justice that you call "law". The roman empire fell a long time ago and while Roman law may have influenced much of our legal proceedings, including the structure of civil cases, I was talking about how civil disputes are generally dealt with. Lawyers arguing a case are supposed to be the last resort, not the first.
This process is based on Judeo-christian principles on how you settle disputes over land or labour. It has nothing to do with criminal law.
Here is how disputes were supposed to be dealt with.
1. You go to the person in question and try to talk it out.
2. If that does not work, you meet in front a mediator such as as priest, local official, magistrate or arbitrator.
3. If that does not work, you hire an advocate and make your case in front of the community.
4. If that does not work, you take your case before the court which would usually have been a king back in the day.
Now you are just making things up. And are you even aware of the difference between law and equity, and the role of the chancellor in old English common law? There were no "arbitrators." What on earth are you even talking about?
I hate to rely on wikipedia, but http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_law might be a good place for you to start. You'll note the section on the influence of Roman law. You'll also see quotes like this:
"Well into the 19th century, ancient maxims played a large role in common law adjudication. Many of these maxims had originated in Roman Law, migrated to England before the introduction of Christianity to the British Isles, and were typically stated in Latin even in English decisions."
You'll also note that "arbitrator" and "arbitration" doesn't appear anywhere in that article because these are not principles of English common law. The word "Christian" appears only in the above quote.
And I'm not a historian, but lawyers are actually taught about the history of common law, since we rely on precedent dating all the way back, and we still have distinctions and rules that come from the 1400's.
You are just making stuff up.
p.s.: and where in the bible does this come from:
To put in a modern context:
1. Go for coffee.
2. Arbitration.
3. Public Hearing.
4. Court case.

How would Safari be able to install that stuff? Forgive me for not knowing, but I haven't seen anything that allowed you to install software, or any executable code, from iOS Safari. Not with Apple's model. Maybe jailbroken, but that's a different story.

Agreed i am happy for Apple to pair up with a company that will get their product out to a large number of people. I have been a die hard user of Apple products since 1993 ( I am only 28) and I will be a user for as long as Apple is out there.
I also know that everyone has the horror stories about cell providers, it is going to happen because there are bad customer service reps at all businesses, or CSRs that are having a bad day.
I just hope that the launch of the iPhone when/if it comes will be a great success for Apple.

Yeah, Apple would NEVER do THAT.
These are products that are now competing directly with the products or the PC industry. I have been using macs since I was about 4, but now that Apple is using Intel Processors, all they really have going for them are their ability to run OS X and their design, which are huge for most of Apple's current market. The ability to run Windows though has helped recently to increase Apple's sales, but it means that apples are now directly competing with Dell, HP and the like. It used to be that apple boasted about their benchmarks versus PCs, but with the Mac Pro, they have been boasting about their price. The innards of a high-end Dell workstation are almost identical to those of the Mac Pro, and likewise, the MacBook and MacBook Pros are very similar to the offerings of the rest of the computer industry. If apple wants to be able to market their products based solely on their products special features they won't sell. It has been the comparible performance along with the things that make Apples Apples that have caused MacBooks to become backordered.

As before, that support is entirely derived from ATI's GPUs and the available number of outputs.
You can get 5 Mini-DisplayPort connectors on a single slot video card.
You can daisy chain multiple monitors with DisplayPort 1.2, and it has much more bandwidth than a Thunderbolt channel.

I have no problem with Greenpeace being at the show as long as they back up their findings with facts and conduct themselves in a civil manner. If Microsoft stepped out of line at the show, I would expect them to be kicked out of the show as well.

In Ca. the routine is to set up a DUI Checkpoint, then set up cops on streets around the checkpoint. Trying to avoid the checkpoint will also get uyou pulled over.
Nothing wrong with the app. I use the Android version.
BTW - My sister was killed by a drunk driver. I believe in freedom of speech and expression. The Constitution is not in place to protect favorable or popular speech, just the opposite. Do I like racist skin heads? No. I'll protect their rights to speak and be idiots though.

Scotch tape.
In the UK its sellotape ( got the spelling correct ) to refer to sticky tape.
"Don't sellotape the paper to the wall, the paint will come off!"
Scotch tape is a brand name of sticky tape, as is sellotape.

Apple also lets us rip CD's in iTunes, listen to podcasts and most of us already have a VCR or DVR, recording TV-shows is just an extra option to put it on an iPod and thats way more important than those few dollars they make on a show.
Don't hope for a $300 media-center, a PC media-center cost's between $1000 en $2000 so a $600-$800 "Mini Media" with a bigger HD and extra Front Row functionality will fit the bill perfectly.

Compare Core Duo vs. AMD. At least until someone does a Core Duo vs. Core 2 Duo benchmark.
AMD 64 , Core 1 , G5 all perform similar , Core 2 on the other hand is a different beast with a 20% boost clock per clock. so a good measure of performance would be to take a clock seed number then add 20% to get the equalivilancy performance. For the 2MB C2D's we can lower figure this to say
14%. Based on what i see on Anandtech.
Example :
Core 2 Duo E6300 @ 1.86ghz + 14% = 2.12ghz G5/X2/CD
Core 2 Duo E6600 @2.4ghz + 20% = 2.88ghz G5/X2/CD
Core 2 Extreme X6800 @ 2.93ghz + 20% = 3.51ghz G5/X2/CD
Now u see why Steve wet his pants when he saw these chips over a year ago. Then Decided to switch , He knew if he had not. Apple's platform would be dead in the water.

And there are several ways to dial abroad using a US carrier.
Cingular (GSM) is $1.29/min in Europe. (About .68 pounds in the UK)
Verizon (CDMA) has dual CDMA/GSM phones that are $1.49 in Europe. (about .79 pounds.)
Sprint (CDMA) also has some dual CDMA/GSM phones that are also $1.49 a minut in Europe.
Although the best deal is with T-Mobile (GSM)> $.99 in Europe. (Or .52 pounds)
So we, too, have international choices.

I don't care anymore about speed of the processors. All of the newer generations are faster than what I need - the only upgrade that is worth it for me is going full SSD. I upgraded one older MacBook with an SSD and it's the best upgrade I ever did - worth more than any other upgrade, it is amazing who that old MacBook got from 'good too use' to 'feels insane fast'. Application startup time can't be measured anymore (some apps took >15sec before, now it's less than one second). From that experience, I would rather take a slower processore but the best SSD I can get.
I know, there are some use cases where the processor speed counts - but just for compiling code and running other apps, I don't care anymore. The big bottleneck these days is the harddrive.
Thanks for the advice but I think I will wait until I can get a 512GB hard drive for under 200.
