During Lil Wayne's "vacation," Nicki Minaj became one of the hottest rappers in the game. With Lil Wayne back and posting hits, Nicki has managed to hold her own. Lil Wayne was impressed with Nicki Minaj from the beginning. But, now, he respects her as his equal in the game.
The respect is obvious because Lil Wayne wants to record with Nicki Minaj and not just for promo use. With his Tha Carter IV coming in less than two months, Wayne requested a Nicki Minaj verse. Wayne said he wants this album to be the one everybody loves.
When he recorded Rebirth, Lil Wayne said he wanted to experiment and people may not like the album. But, when he came with his next rap album, it had to be perfect. Obviously, he trusts Nicki Minaj because she has recorded a verse for this album.
