The struggles of G-Unit have been obvious over the past four years. Despite his label falling apart, 50 Cent has still been focused on expanding. After his album sales began to decline, 50 Cent lost his control over Interscope Records. Upset, he left the label for a new deal with EMI Records.
Under this new deal, 50 Cent retains full creative control of his label. For years, 50 Cent has been trying to expand G-Unit Records into a major label. He has finally taken steps in the right direction to make this happen. Recently, he created G Note Records.
Moving at a rapid pace, 50 Cent has already got an artist signed to the label. He moved Young Hot Rod from the main G-Unit label to be the flagship of G Note Records. Along with the label change will also be a change in style. Initially, Hot Rod was hardcore and now he will be more along the lines of a pop rapper.
