Recently, 50 Cent was back in the news as the launch of G Note Records was made public. Not only did 50 Cent announce a new record label, but he also announced the first artist. Initially, Hot Rod was signed to G-Unit Records as a hardcore rapper. But, on the new label, G Note, he is more pop.
Hot Rod recently discussed the new label and his career. Three years ago, Hot Rod signed with G-Unit Records. Immediately after his signing, 50 Cent created G Note Records. Hot Rod has been touring all over the world promoting the label. The first release from G Note was supposed to be Hot Rod's "Dance with Me" single.
In 2007, G-Unit's downfall began and 50 Cent had a heart-to-heart with the new artists on the label. He sat Hot Rod and another minor artist down and told them to build their own buzz. After 50 Cent made it clear he had to pull his own weight, Hot Rod organized his own tour and began promoting for both of the labels, G-Unit and G Note.
