AZ tells Rap Vets to Step Aside for Drake and J. Cole

While working on his album, AZ is making plans to leave the rap game behind. He released his debut album, Doe or Die, in 1995 and has released multiple albums since. Most of the rappers who debuted in the mid-1990s are still dominating the game now, but not too many newer rappers have broken in and stayed.

One reason for this is because many of the rap veterans refuse to step out of the limelight. AZ never had the buzz of Jay-Z or Nas and he wanted things this way. Despite not being as commercially successful, AZ still made his money and still has the freedom to travel as he pleases.

AZ does not have any plans to reach the commercial peak of the game, but he sees rappers who do. Drake has been dominating since he was still on the mixtape level. J. Cole has also been very successful and he hopes to finally release his debut album sometime next year. AZ has been watching these two rappers, along with Wiz Khalifa. He feels the veterans should step aside to let them have their shine.
