Three years ago, 50 Cent was preparing to release Curtis, his third album. After watching his first two albums go 5x platinum, 50 Cent felt untouchable. He bragged about his sales to Hot97 and even dissed independent label, Koch Records. 50 Cent said the label was a "graveyard" for washed up artists.
Cam'ron was signed to the label, at the time. Not only was he signed, but Koch Records distributed the entire Diplomat imprint. It came as no surprise when Cam took offense to the statement made by 50 Cent. Cam'ron called into the station and he and 50 Cent had a heated argument.
Following the phone conversation, both rappers began preparing their diss records. Despite there being no clear winner, 50 Cent boasted of his victory during his feud with Rick Ross. In 2009, the rappers ended their feud, as the members of Dipset, Jim Jones and Juelz Santana, pubicly sided with 50. The other day, Cam'ron commented on the feud, saying it was good for hip hop.
Today, 50 Cent also chimed in about the beef. 50 Cent said the issues between him and Cam'ron were only on wax. On a personal level, 50 said he had no issues with him because he really did not know him. He went on to say the feud was nothing more than competition. Battling is a part of the core of hip hop and 50 Cent has mastered it. 50 Cent said he does not wake up feeling like he hates Cam'ron. The G-Unit general went on to say he thinks that Cam'ron is actually a good guy.
