DJ Whoo Kid was among the many people influenced by the late Jam Master Jay. Early in his career, Whoo Kid was mentored by the Run-DMC DJ. In many ways, Jam Master Jay is who DJs aspire to be like. DJ Whoo Kid gives him credit for most of his success.
With today being Jam Master Jay's 46th birthday, Whoo Kid described his relationship with him. The G-Unit DJ said he learned a lot from Jam. He has used his advice as he has gone on tours with 50 Cent and being his own person. Most DJs are only known for their crew, but Whoo Kid stands out like Jay did.
Jam Master Jay taught DJ Whoo Kid how to be a businessman and working out other ventures. Whoo Kid says they became so close that they almost knew everything about each other. Each day, DJ Whoo Kid tries to be more like his deceased mentor. He said he and Russell Simmons talk about him frequently.
