After years of being with Outkast, Big Boi tried embarking on a solo career for the second time in 2009. He tried to release his debut solo album through Jive Records, but they blocked the release. Big Boi signed a solo contract with Def Jam later in the year.
Last year, Big Boi released his debut album, Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty. The album was released through Def Jam and became one of the most acclaimed albums of 2010. After the success of the album, Big Boi has bigger plans.
Big Boi revealed he has a three-album deal with Def Jam and he plans to keep on working. He has already started working on his second studio album. While he admitted it might not be released this year, he said the album would be another classic.
With the new album, he said it will have another eccentric title. Big Boi has yet to come up with a theme, but he said to expect funk elements on this new release. In the meantime, Big Boi said he is waiting on Andre 3000 to finish his solo album so they can work on the next Outkast album too.
