Earlier this year, Nicki Minaj announced she would not be doing any collaborations for two years. Nicki built her career off collaborations. Initially on the mixtape level, Nicki Minaj worked with several artists. She was formally introduced to the mainstream on songs with Ludacris and Usher.
Nicki Minaj is now arguably one of the biggest stars, bigger than both Ludacris and Usher. In only a year, Nicki has gone from wanting collaborations to turning them down. She said the only person she was willing to work with was Britney Spears. But, soon she announced various Young Money collaborations.
In the future, Nicki Minaj said she would be more selective about who she works with. Nicki said she has gotten plenty of offers, but she cannot make a full decision yet. However, Nicki has two dream collaborations, aside from her Lil Wayne Carter IV feature. She wants to do a record with both Beyonce and Britney Spears.
