Following a rather silent 2010, Jay-Z is back in the news following the positive response to "H.A.M." The song is the first single from the new album, Watch the Throne. This album is a collaboration effort between Jay-Z and Kanye West. Kanye West hopes this album will prove he is just as good as Jay-Z.

The first single has definitely turned heads. Jay-Z is known for throwing subliminal shots and has done it on "H.A.M." In 2009, he was called out by Birdman. The Cash Money Records CEO said that his artist, Lil Wayne, made more than Jay-Z. He also went on to say he felt Wayne was the better rapper out of the two.

In 2006, Lil Wayne began dissing Jay-Z. When Jay-Z had retired in 2003, Lil Wayne said he was now the best rapper alive. But, Jay-Z returned saying he had to come and save hip hop. The comments offended Lil Wayne and he began dissing Jay-Z in an effort to prove he was better. His disses earned a phone call from Jay-Z and the two agreed to work together.

In 2008, the two men united for "Mr. Carter" and Jay-Z hailed Lil Wayne as the future. But, after catching the comments made by Birdman, he had to check them both. In the song, he says their "baby money" does not match his, nor his woman's (Beyonce's) cash. Together, the couple is worth well over $1 billion.
