Until last month, it appeared as if The Notorious B.I.G.'s murder case would go unsolved. Going on fourteen years after his death, there had not been any major developments. Voletta Wallace, the mother of the iconic rapper, said she felt the Los Angeles Police Department had covered up Biggie's murder.
Many hip hop extremists agree with her and they also assume the murder of Tupac Shakur has also been covered up. Because no information has come, many had given up on discovering the truth around Biggie's murder. But, last month a little bit of information was released to the public.
In January, there was "new information" released regarding the murder case. However, the detectives would not reveal anymore information. Over a month since the story was reported, nothing new has come. This has all changed, as the said information has been released to the public about two police officers employed by Death Row Records.
David Mack and Rafael Perez worked for Death Row Records and Mack was a personal friend of the former Death Row CEO, Suge Knight. Perez is now in prison and his cellmate revealed both Perez and Mack were involved in the death of The Notorious B.I.G. The inmate said Perez worked security and he called Mack when Biggie got into the truck. He did not say Perez masterminded the set up, but he clearly believes Rafael Perez had something to do with Biggie's untimely death.
