Rick Ross' fourth studio album, Teflon Don, will defeat Eminem's latest effort, Recovery, to debut at number one on the album charts. Teflon Don is the second consecutive album from Ross to debut on top of the Billboard Hot 200. But, with his latest effort, the stakes were much higher.
Unlike in the past, Rick Ross released his album close to the release of a heavyweight. Going against Eminem has been a dream of Ross' for some time. While he has dreamed of going against Em, he has had plans of working with Dr. Dre. Now, finally becoming the boss of rap, he may earn that chance.
While working on Teflon Don, Rick Ross said the album would be a commercial and critical success. He said once the first single came out, it would rule the airwaves. Ross promised all of the singles from the album would result in being major hits, the lead single, "Super High" with Ne-Yo peaked at number 13 on the rap charts and his next single, "B.M.F.," has peaked at 17 on the same charts.
By the looks of things, Rick Ross has achieved everything he has ever wanted with the exception of a platinum plaque.
