Five years ago, Kanye West said then-President George W. Bush did not care about black people. Hurricane Katrina ripped the city of New Orleans to shreds. The wealthy neighborhoods were quickly re-established, while the black neighborhoods are still in shambles.
At the time, Bush was well on his way to making a legacy as the most-hated president in history. Kanye West moved on with his life, making more and more comments. Meanwhile, Bush made a swift exit from the White House. The same year Bush left office, West made a major mistake when he crossed Taylor Swift.
One year after his own backlash, Kanye West said he can actually sympathize with George W. Bush. The two have communicated through the media and seem to have made amends. While one former Roc-A-Fella member may have forgiven the president, one has not. The "originator" of the crew remains upset with Bush.
George W. Bush released his book earlier this year and he has been all in the media trying to justify the way he handled the epidemic. Jay-Z said there is no way he can justify the way he treated the Americans after they lost their homes. The Brooklyn rapper said if Bush were to look back at the tapes, there were nothing but black people left as the water rose and they had help signs. All Bush did was fly over the people and now he is trying to act as if it never happen. Jay-Z will not allow that to be the case.
