Recently, Soulja Boy discussed his upcoming album, The DeAndre Way, and how it was the turning point in his career. Ever since he emerged in the game, Soulja Boy has made pop records. But, the fact that he only makes pop records landed him negative criticism.

During the summer of 2008, Soulja Boy said he actually does have pretty good flow. But, he said he only gives the people what they want, a dumbed-down flow. Tired of all of the critics, Soulja Boy aimed to show them something on his next record.

As luck would have it, Snoop Dogg asked Soulja Boy to be featured on his single, "Pronto." The song was a minor hit and it earned recognition of Soulja Boy as a lyricist. But, there are still critics who feel as if Soulja Boy cannot hold down an entire album.

For those critics, Soulja Boy said things would be different on The DeAndre Way. Soulja Boy said he would be lyrical on the album, but not super-lyrical like Lupe Fiasco. He said Lupe does not get much airplay because most fans do not understand what he is talking about. Lupe Fiasco responded to Soulja Boy and a feud has broken out.

In response to his newest rival, Soulja Boy said he does not care what Lupe Fiasco thinks. The only reason he ever decided to diss the rapper was because controversy sells. 50 Cent has been mentoring Soulja Boy for the past few months and he has taught the young rapper to become more aggressive. Throughout his career, 50 Cent has not had an issue calling rappers out for attention.
