40 Glocc steps into CEO role

With the recent dismantling of G-Unit Records, 40 Glocc has been given his walking papers. Like some of the other artists signed to the label, 40 had his own project on the side. Even though his music was not out there, he had his record label, Zoo Life Entertainment. He would often promote the label as if it were a part of G-Unit. While it was not, he received a lot of advice from 50 Cent about the operations.

The label has existed for now five years, but 40 Glocc has never had a proper distribution deal for the label. Since the entire G-Unit label is up in the air, he found himself no longer signed to G-Unit. Despite being one of the biggest supporters of 50 Cent, he was never signed to Interscope Records. In 2003, he released an album through the label, but they found an independent distributor.

Now that he is without G-Unit, 40 Glocc has signed himself to his reorganized Zoo Life label. Unlike before, 40 Glocc will be releasing his albums and his artists albums on this label. He has established a distribution deal for his label with the distribution arm of Universal Music Group, Fontana.
