Raekwon still open to Nas collaboration

The relationship between Nas and Raekwon has been on shaky ground for the past few months. Last year, Raekwon was preparing for the release of Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, Pt. II and he lined up guest appearances. Among the guest named for the album was Nas. But, when the album was released, Nas was nowhere to be found on it.

Following the release of the album, Raekwon said he had planned for a collaboration with Nas. For unknown reasons, Nas stood him up on the album. Rae said their collaboration could have been legendary. Nas spoke on the album and said it, along with Jay-Z's instant classic, The Blueprint 3, were his favorite albums on the year.

Obviously disappointed, Raekwon said Nas should have let him know he did not want to be on the album. After hearing about his disappointment on various websites, Nas opened up on the situation. He said he did not intentionally leave Raekwon hanging. Instead, Nas was so swamped working with Damian Marley on their Distant Relatives project and the situation with Kelis. With everything going on, he decided to simply take a break.

Before being abandoned by Nas, Raekwon considered the Queens rapper to be one of his best friends in the game. Even though Nas left no warning about not recording for the album, Raekwon did not let it bother their personal relationship. However, their professional relationship took quite a hit. But, with Nas explaining himself, Raekwon easily forgave him on a professional level. Now, working on his next album, Shaolin vs. Wu Tang, Raekwon is open to having Nas featured on the album. Nas admitted he missed out on a golden opportunity on the last Raekwon album and promised to show up if he had a second chance.
