Ja Rule and the Comeback, the Saga Continues

Three years ago, Ja Rule convinced the world he could return to the beast form he was in during the beginning of the 21st century. Having released an album each year since his 1999 debut, Rule was knocked off his throne by 50 Cent. But, karma came back to bite the G-Unit general in a major way as he was battling Fat Joe, Cam’ron, and Jadakiss all at one time. It appeared as if it was as good of a time as any for Ja Rule to battle his way back into the game.

Due to circumstances with Universal Records, the Ja Rule comeback did not happen. The label was unwilling to promote his music, so they let shelved his album. In order to properly advance his career, Ja Rule released the album for free last summer. Three years have passed since Ja Rule planned his comeback and the game has evolved. Lil Wayne, a collaborator of Ja Rule’s, was rising to the top then, now he and his crew share the top.

Despite all the bad luck Ja Rule has run into with his music, he is still confident he can give the people what they want. Treating 2010 as if it is 2000, Ja Rule plans to over saturate the game. He has plans for a reality show, a new studio album, and a compilation album to support his new movement. Aside from being the flagship artist of Murder Inc. Records, Ja Rule is also the boss of his own Mpire Records.

While Ja Rule remains confident in his abilities, there are plenty of supporters who have heard his big talk and it is coming a little bit too late. Rule was in the game for five years and released an album each year. However, six years have passed since his last release. Had the comeback been staged in 2007, Rule promoting a new album may not come off as such a joke. Again, though, due to circumstances, there is no real reason to believe he is going to return.

The “new album” is currently set for a November release date.
