While still serving his prison sentence in New York and having to face the Arizona charges when he gets out, the problems are mounting up for Lil Wayne. Reportedly, the Young Money CEO has earned $200 million since 2005 and he has yet to pay his manager the 15% they agreed to. Because of this, Wayne is being sued by his former manager.
Melissa Phillipan was Lil Wayne's manager until 2005 and she was fired after booking Wayne at a "sub-par" location. They had initially agreed to a three-year deal and Phillipan had booked 21 shows for Lil Wayne. Lil Wayne argues he never signed an agreement with Phillipan, saying she forged his signature. In 2006, she sued him and they settled out of court.
Recently, there may be proof of Lil Wayne lying under oath and he may still owe Phillipan. There is a video on YouTube in which Wayne acknowledges Melissa Phillipan as his manager and praises her for the opportunities she has landed for him. With the good times clearly behind them, a new lawsuit has been filed by Melissa Phillipan against Lil Wayne, Cash Money Records, and the overall Universal Music Group.
