Often 50 Cent brags about having the largest fan base of any other rapper in the game. Despite this, he has delivered the same hardcore style that he had when he was a street rapper in the late 1990s. After the failure of his last album, 50 said that he was going to change things up. He blamed a lot of his stagnation on Interscope Records, who wanted 50 Cent to be the same on every album.
After a two-year battle with Jimmy Iovine and Interscope, 50 Cent is off of Interscope Records. He is currently searching for a new distribution deal for the G-Unit label. In the meantime, he has his artists working on new albums. Frequently, Tony Yayo speaks of his second album and Lloyd Banks recently filmed a video for his single, "Beamers." 50 Cent has said that he wants to release the next round of albums from G-Unit on an independent label.
This will include his next album, Black Magic. He attempted to change his style on his last album, but 50 has promised to go all out on this album. In an effort to entertain his entire fan base, the Queens rapper will be promoting the same type of music that Jay-Z featured on his last album. This comes after 50 Cent dissed Jay-Z for going pop last fall, but after looking at his record sales, 50 Cent is going to follow his lead. The new album from 50 will feature techno and a more European style.
When speaking on Black Magic, 50 Cent said to "expect the unexpected." There is no confirmed release date for this new album, but it will be released before the end of this year. The album will be released under the G-Unit label.
