After a month of mishaps keeping him out of prison, Lil Wayne has finally reported to New York to begin his prison sentence. Getting him into prison has been a tough job. On February 9 of this year, Wayne was supposed to begin his sentence, but he was given time to get his teeth fixed. Then, the courthouse caught on fire, which led to the building being shut down for a few days. When things were finally straight, there was the issue of scheduling.
Now, the courthouse is ash free and Lil Wayne got his teeth fixed. The delays are over and the rapper can begin his prison sentence. Initially, he was given one year after being caught with guns and drugs. The case was built in 2007, but he was just sentenced last fall. He was in court, along with fellow rappers Busta Rhymes, Ja Rule, and Remy Ma. All of those rappers lost their cases. Remy Ma went first, followed by Busta Rhymes, who was sentenced, obviously, Lil Wayne is gone, and the next one up is Ja Rule.
It took over a month to get Lil Wayne behind bars and now there are rumors of the rapper getting out early. Even before he went into prison, Wayne was getting special treatment. While he will be behind bars, a place will be provided for him to record his new music. In an effort to keep Lil Wayne from being a victim behind bars, he will be in a cell that is away from the other prisoners. Now, it gets even better for Weezy F. Baby, now he faces the possibility of getting out after only eight months, like T.I. Wayne, too, would be sent to a halfway house for the remainder of his prison sentence.
