Jay-Z was one of the first celebrities to come out and endorse Barack Obama in 2008. Even through his tough time in office, one of the biggest Obama supporters is Jay-Z. In return, Barack Obama has been one of the biggest Jay-Z fans. Not so long ago, the Brooklyn-bred rapper boasted that President Obama works out to his album, The Blueprint 3. During his campaign, Obama said that he listened to Jay's Vol. 2... Hard Knock Life frequently.
When Barack Obama was sworn in as president, he had Jay-Z come out and perform. Jay-Z performed outside, after the parade, for the people to see. Then, he also performed inside of the White House as the Obama family hosted the 2009 Inaugural Ball. In the one year that Obama has been president, he has expressed his support for Jay-Z. In return, Jay-Z has also expressed his support for the president. After many of his 2008 concerts, he had places where the fans could register to vote.
All of that support has finally paid off. For years, Jay-Z has been dubbed as the "President of Hip Hop," but that does not count for much unless he was elected. The true hip hop president was Barack Obama and even the former Def Jam president admitted to that. His unwavering support for President Obama has led to him being invited over to see the president. President Obama took a break from the Health Care Reform debate, while Jay-Z took a break from his Blueprint 3 tour and the two men talked in the Oval Office. At a performance, Jay-Z revealed that he had just finished talking with President Obama at the White House.
