Throughout his career, Memphis Bleek has had doubters. In the minds of many, he is nothing more than the sidekick of Jay-Z. Recently, he has been shedding this image. He left Roc-A-Fella and moved his own Get Low label to an exclusive distribution deal. The rapper is only days away from the release of his fifth studio album, The Process.
Much like how Jay-Z featured him on his earlier music, Bleek had plans of doing the same thing. Memphis Bleek has been known as the right hand man of Jay-Z. However, as he transitions from sidekick to big star, Memph Bleek wanted his own sidekick. For years, he has had one in the form of Gregory "G Baby" Brown.
Brown was a childhood friend of Bleek and he was an artist on his Get Low Records. G Baby signed to Get Low in 2003. His album was expected to come sometime next year, but he was shot and killed after a Fabolous performance. It is said that Memphis Bleek is taking things hard. Despite having a heavy heart, he is already back out with Jay-Z doing performances.
