After a month of dissing Jay-Z, MC Hammer says he is done taking aim at the Brooklyn rapper. Hammer was known for the highest-selling rap album and later for losing his entire fortune. Jay-Z, a rapper known for him hundreds of millions, poked fun at this on the "So Appaled" song.
Upon hearing the verse, MC Hammer was not impressed and he started a feud with Jay-Z. First, he took his fight to the press. Each time he had a public interview, Hammer would take the time to mention Jay-Z. Later, he recorded his feelings and made a video, "Better Run Run."
Jay-Z did not respond to MC Hammer out of respect. He was surprised he was offended by his lyrics. Instead of forcing the issue, Jay-Z denied dissing him and wrote positively about him in his "Decoded" book. Seeing how Jay-Z went out of his way, MC Hammer has decided to take him at his word and leave the feud alone.
